Rosina and Jim McGlynn

Owned by Rosina and Jim McGlynn, Ticketyboo Japanese Bobtails reside in London, Ontario, Canada.  However, showing with the CFA takes them into the U.S.A. on an almost weekly basis.

"We actually became Cat Fanciers by accident.  Attending a Dog Show, we passed through a wrong door and found ourselves in the midst of a Cat Show.  Individually, we had been involved in "showing" either dogs or horses and birds.

Having spent some time admiring the cats, we planned another visit to a Cat Show resulting in our first feline purchase, a Seal-point Himalayan.  We thought him the most beautiful cat in the world, and were instantly "bitten by the bug".

Totally besotted with our new creature we realized he needed a play-mate and approached the same Breeder, Doreen Linfield, and soon brought another "Himi" home.  We had however, by that time, already fallen in love with "Doralin's Barbie Doll" and begged and pleaded for her.  Doreen promised if ever she placed Barbie in another home that home would be ours.  How we longed for the day we would take Barbie home, never really believing it would happen.

To our surprise Doreen eventually asked if we would be interested in showing Barbie, an opportunity we jumped at.  With the utmost patience Doreen taught me how to present Barbie, and that year "Doralin's Barbie Doll" was awarded CFA Great Lakes Region's 5th Best Cat in Premiership.

While proudly showing Barbie we were introduced to the Japanese Bobtail, and given a kitten as a gift.  We were instantly captivated by this charming Breed.  Up to that point we had thought long-haired cats would be what we continued on with, but the Japanese Bobtail completely changed our point of view.

Our biggest break came when we were offered 3 "Bassetti" females as Janet Bassetti was moving abroad.  2 of the 3 females were to later become our foundation.

The next stroke of luck came when Marilyn Knopp allowed us to have a "MaRicho" male, our first stud cat.  Marilyn's ongoing support and her willingness to allow us the benefit of her knowledge of Japanese Bobtails, has been priceless.

From these opportunities, we are able to continue to enjoy the pleasure of the company of what must surely be the most charming of all felines, the Japanese Bobtail."

The breeding of Ticketyboo Japanese Bobtails is done on a very small scale.  However, kittens are sometimes available for adoption.
